Not exactly your points, which you bring up excellent ones. But this is why I was saying it was futile at this current climate.
You mention that research being possible in the 70's. The issue now, even if the researcher is not bias, and they have followed proper methodology, and let's just pretend they actually have a random sample, (getting all your participants from GirlChat is not a random sample,) you still have this huge over-arching issue of how the data is going to be interpreted by the outside (and extremely ignorant, and simple-minded) world. Researchers may even make rational conclusions, which can still be then twisted and used as evidence to further an opposing agenda. I don't think there is any winning until there is a cultural shift. I don't think the shift comes about rationally. Somehow, we will need to appeal to emotion. |
