Either someone is defining STIs very different than I am...
Or someone is defining as an STI all new detected instances of some diseases known to be able to be transmitted sexually (such as HPV, or, yes, HIV)...
Or someone is including the diseases and deaths causes by genital mutilation...

Or someone is just lying.
