The chief reason we do not hear about men having sex with girls during the Roman era is that it was so common that no one thought to write much about it. It would have been like writing a book about the fact that some people breathe, eat, and drink. It is referenced, here and there, in some of the old books, but mentioned in passing without explanation, because the writer would have presumed his audience not to be deaf and blind.
