People only want their children fraternizing with folks that 'elevate' them and teach them more acceptable and 'classy' ways of speaking and writing.
If that were true, then people would teach their children to love the Klan, the Confederacy, anti LGBT groups, etc, etc. I think people don't want to elevate their children. They want their children as stupid as they are.
