American measures

Posted by griffith on Thursday, August 16 2018 at 07:45:06AM

Why do you Americans use numbers that can be understood by everyone -- like 8, 77, 514 etc?

At the same time you use inches and feet and yards and miles, not metres, and ounces and pounds, and acres, and also Fahrenheits.

So why don't you use some exotic number system as well -- octal, hexadecimal, or maybe even the 60-based Babylonian system? Or even binary system, to make it as hard as possible for foreigners?

And why do you say "The sprinter run 100 metres" instead of saying "The sprinter run 320.0833 ft"?

You are not logical.
