The majority of people on this board I think are pretty far left closer in line with Dissident. And so it seems in general society, they just don't usually vote as much as centrists/traditionalists.

I don't know. I guess we would figure that out if/when they weigh in on the subject. A lot of people don't claim deep knowledge of just how to best address the ills of society, and I respect them greatly for that.

I am personally somewhat to the left of Bernie Sanders' 2016 positions on most issues, on average. Being called a centrist is pretty funny. I've also been a supporter of the ACLU for decades.

Polls don't go significantly left of voting patterns. I don't know what evidence you have for this.

I think you are also wrong on how society sees you and virped. While more open minded people will see virped generally favorably...

Yes. If I had to guess, I'd say... maybe 35% view us favorably? The pro-legalization view, maybe 2 (two) percent?

... I think society on average still dislikes pedophiles so much that even virpeds views will not be accepted.

I understand that passionate opposition by, say, 45% will continue for the indefinite future. VP gets hate mail, the @virpeds twitter feed attracts plenty of hatred. I'm well aware of it. But if the opponents went from a current 63% to 45%, we could accomplish a great deal.

Remember you have more lenient views on both child porn and those who act on it, which is not shared at all by general society.

Yes, I recognize that. My personal CP views go beyond VP's position on the issue. But civil liberties do sometimes attract people's attention. They do sometimes see the merit in tolerating things they at a gut level strongly dislike. The old Supreme Court opinion said it pretty well, "If the First Amendment means anything, it means that a State has no business telling a man, sitting alone in his own house, what books he may read or what films he may watch."

VP could also accomplish a great deal without changing CP law at all.

And one more point, revolutions happen all the time and society can and does frequently change very fast.

"All the time" doesn't describe rich, industrialized western countries very well. But indeed they can change fast. At this point, we have far more to fear from a Christian theocracy or White Power sort of revolution than anything in the other direction.
