Of course it may not be completely fair towards MBB given the profession she is in. But my point was that compared to boys girls tend to lose their girlishness much sooner and though some of it might be biologically determined ('bleed, breed') it is also culturally determined: girls seem to get into competitive mode as soon as they start high school, under peer pressure which in itself is under pressure from society's beauty standards that are highly sexualising.

Those beauty standards have too much influence and I don't like it. I must clarify that I am no fan of make-up, high heels, long fingernails and all that. I like girls (and women for that matter) au naturelle. That is not to say they can't be sexy but being sexy is in the eye of the beholder and many girls to me are definately sexy without them having to apply artificial sexiness. That said I am fully aware and fine with it that girls, whatever their age, are just as capable of wanting to attract attention as the rest of us. Wether they do that consciously or not (most pretty much know what they do or at least what the result is: us wrapped around their little fingers). It is also different when the girls are actually in your life. Currently I have no LG's in my life but I remain in contact contact with some former LG's who have grown into fine young women. And typically most of them stay away from (excessive) make-up and high heels (though of course I would not if they didn't as they are dear to me).

Ah well, enough ramblings this morning.

Cheers!
