"... the needs of the many..."

So, just because society dictates that one must do (or not do) something, I -- as an individual -- MUST?

I realize that, should I be female (ugly or pretty), I must wear a hood and cover my face and body when (or might be) exposed to society, but I can still consider it stupid. And, if I want to share existence with society, I must protect myself from their stupidity.

Many years ago, I didn't understand that and ended up in prison.
