..about how the brain uses symbolism, but I know for a fact it also incorporates both recent experiences and recent conscious thoughts we may dwell on, into our dreams, not to mention sounds that are currently taking place while we dream. It's always fascinated me, but so too has the effect certain foods seem to have upon strange and vivid dream states. Maybe it's a glucose thing feeding the brain or something. I honestly don't know. I've also heard theories that dreams are just the brain "defragging" itself overnight, and that they mean nothing at all.
My personal experiences, the others of which I won't tediously bore people with, tell me that the latter is not the case. I'm definitely more in line with your interpretation, as well as its ability to incorporate actual events into its creative metaphoric storyline. The human brain is amazing. "It's a mysterious organ," said the ancient cathedral priest to the choirboy. (Err, sorry). Btw, the blond girl judging my worthiness as a lover in my dream was an amalgamation of several different girls I do not know but who have owned my private fantasies. So your theory remains on target. Thanks for the reply. |
