I saw a movie

The movie had zero in common with me. Yet, it had everything in common with not only me, but YOU all, too.

The Miseducation Of Cameron Post

In 1993, a teenage girl is forced into a gay conversion therapy center by her conservative guardians.

How did this relate to me? These kids were outside the sexual norm that society demands. The therapy center attempted to bend these kids' orientation back into what society considers correct.

The question was asked, was this emotional abuse? The movie claimed, yes. I disagree. I do not think it was abuse but, rather, a loving attempt to bring someone they (the staff) honestly believed was the right thing to do.

Nevertheless, it was the WRONG thing to do. Abuse was not intended, but damage was being done.

I kept looking for me in there. I kept asking myself did the scene related to me (no, not gay but un-normal.) Later, I did see me in there. The center was hurting people (involuntarily). I am being hurt by society simply because society thinks I am bad... a wrong person... something to be either segregated or punished, or otherwise changed. Society thinks this honestly.

Society also thinks other things such as wars, extreme limitations on my individual freedom and inalienable rights. Society does so to protect itself.

But I am an individual. I am not part of Society. Society is my enemy and, as such, I must live with it.

Forcing me to fit into Society hurts me.

But I can withstand it. I just have to be careful how I do it. Parking tickets are expensive. (Think about that metaphor.)
