Any tech experts able to answer?

Posted by Eeyore on Thursday, November 22 2018 at 04:21:11AM

A certain tech news site I read tells me Tor version 7 had a vulnerability which allowed a for-profit outfit to develop a malware exploit which made Tor 7 leak .dll information. They sold the exploit apparently to LEA's which used it to obtain MAC addresses, IP's, etc.

Did Tor Project fix this flaw? Also, how is anyone to know the same could not be achieved with the 8.0 updates? I'm not encountering any info on this at the few tech sites I've read.

Somebody school me on this. Thanks.
