Consider Oymyakon in eastern Siberia – the coldest permanently inhabited town in the world!
The winter temperature is consistently below -50 C. At those temps, unprotected, you can get frostbite in less than 10 seconds; so you may need to bundle up. It’s a cozy community of 600-900 people; so you’ll get plenty of opportunities to know your neighbors. It takes over 2 days over 1200 km of frozen roads to get there from Yakutz, the nearest city; so your privacy is assured. The good news is that there are children there! Hooray!! Children are required to go to school as long as the temperature is warmer than -55 C. However, hanging around the playground for a chance to meet them is not recommended. There doesn’t appear to be much anti-paedo sentiment; so you might even feel welcome. A couple of downsides include no running water and outdoor toilets, but the locals say you’ll get used to that.
