Years ago, I was a researcher involved with Artificial Intelligence. Specifically, natural language processing, voice recognition, and text to speech. So, when I saw an article discussing computer generated images of peoples' faces, I naturally checked it out. It should be noted that my field was not image analysis. However, I have scrutinized the images presented (below) and have marveled at just how good AI is becoming.
If you visit the This Person Does Not Exist website, you’ll be greeted by a seemingly simple portrait. Reload the page, and another face will pop onto your screen. These people, however, do not exist in the real world.
There are a few, extremely minor artifacting present, but, well, look for yourself.
What brought me here was one of the images (and then later a second one) was of someone I found to be very much in my AoA and easy to become obsessed with.
