There is no equality between ordinary circumcision and Female Genital Mutilation....none! FGM is horribly much worse than circumcision. Do you deny that, GL?

And yes, MGM is worse:

1. Biology. MGM removes 20 thousand nerve receptors, versus 8 thousand in FGM.

2. Sociology. As your own slacktivist outrage shows, FGM is questioned more or less easily even sometimes where it is prevalent; while MGM is defended even where it is rare and by people who easily criticize FGM. The reason is that females are valued many times above the value of males by cultural values and mores. Which has bad social consequences much beyond the prevalence and acceptance of cutting either sex.

3. Psychology. The trauma of the first, or a very early one, sexual experience being one of powerlessness, excruciating pain, and constant rationalization of it being good, creates the mindset of a rapist. Not that you actually want to diminish rape, though.
