I have never been to China but many of my friends are from there, especially northern China. I married into a Chinese family from Fuyang
(阜阳市), Anhui (安徽省) but my son-in-law is from Qinhuangdao (秦皇岛市), Hebei (河北省).

As for Russians, my work (retired now) exposed me to several Aeroflot air crew as well as some Polish air crew who had flights to Kyiv Boryspil International Airport. Some of my training buddies were from Austria. But that's the extent of my exposure to East Russia and surrounding regions. I don't leave Canada.

As for Japanese, years ago, I tried really hard to pick up some hiragana but didn't get very far. There was a Japanese couple with a sailing boat that looked at me strangely when I said, "Conbanwa" (Good evening.)

As for "a'o tava za jivai'a", no, I never heard of it nor any music chanting it.
