It's important for me to remember that preteen girls can and do feel deeply about "life". That the challenges of continuing to be caring, loving, and sensitive creatures when still so young and vulnerable can often be overwhelming, especially in the face of online bullying, mean girls, overbearing parents, rampant environmental crisis, school shootings, and vulgar unwanted attention from adults (not too be confused with gentle and respectful attention from patient GLers).

It's also important for me to remember that young LGs can be incredibly emotionally strong when needed. That even though they may sometime appear to be delicate and defenseless does not mean that they are! Neither does their being children give any adult the right to deny them the respect and admiration that any human being deserves.
