Somewhere along the line it got twisted. She was not given approval for medically assisted suicide. She choose to not eat and that ended up killing her.

Horrific all around and I blame society for making her think she was impure because she was raped. Her words. She was told because of her age, and how terrible it was she would pretty much never recover.

I do believe assisted suicide should always be illegal. Life is just too precious. Just my opinion. But, that's not really what happened here. Although it is a little disturbing to me that the Netherlands has legalized the ability for children to choose to die (with parental and doctors consent).

The whole thing is sad all around.
