... I really don't remember
In Oklahoma, not Arizona What does it matter What does it matter People don't like things. Sometimes, this can get pretty intense. Wars are sometimes fought surrounded by hate. Often, the hate is artificially inflated. Consider the words "Redcoats", and then "Rebs" and "Yanks". Still further on we had "Nips", "Jerries", "Krauts". Moving right along, we had "Gooks". Today, everyone loves the Japanese, Germans, and even Vietnamese peoples. Back in my youth, everyone was scared of and hated "Commies". Today, my wife and kids are Chinese, many of my friends are Russian or Ukrainian. They sure don't seem to be horrible "Commies". Social hatred is a scary but useless human emotion. Hatred is best reserved for venomous snakes, pollution, and poorly written soap operas on TV. |
