bookstores -the fast food job for young feminists

So I was in one of the corporate chain bookstores the other day. I went there to buy something that could teach me bitcoin, but I was also browsing other areas, as well as getting in some nice views.

At one point I saw a pretty normal looking middle-aged father who was there with his two daughters, one about nine and on the nerdy bookworm side, and another about seven in sexy shorts and tanned slender legs. They were both pretty cute.

Apparently dad was seeking advice from one of the workers on what book to buy, presumably for the older daughter. I'm standing nearby and listening in. Sadly, he had asked a frumpy early 20-something woman in black-framed glasses and a nose ring.

"Oh, I know the perfect book. It's called Girls Don't Apologize! Let me go see if we have any more."

I started seeing red. I didn't look up the book, still haven't, but presumed it was some subversive form of today's 4th wave feminism, planting seeds in the minds of young girls to believe that being feminine, nurturing, or wanting to get married and have kids is oppression against women. Ugh, so over it. Or not.

I wanted to follow the frumpy girl, pull the door closed and just lock her in the back room. I wanted to slap clueless dad upside the head and say "THE HELL'S WRONG WITH YOU? RUN! TAKE YOUR DAUGHTERS AND GET OUT OF HERE, NOW!" ...but I didn't. I looked at the long line at the register, dropped my bitcoin book in front of the bargain shelf cat calendar, and walked out.

Maybe it was just a sign from the gods that I need to buy precious metals instead. I refuse to be camping curbside next time the economy tanks.
