Yeah, I was told to not shake hands left handed when I broke my right wrist. A nod was all that I could arrange.
As for a bidet, after having my short sit (spelling!), I take a shower. One BIG bidet. :) Finally, take a look at the East Asian's (Chinese, Korean, and Japanese) customs of a low ceramic (what, bowl?) in the washroom floor and you squat there. I was in a small airport downtown Toronto and went into the public washroom there. Someone had posted a sign saying specifically to NOT stand on the toilet bowl. I knew that, in the past, someone had done so and someone else had discovered the guy's practice. I couldn't figure out why people would do that until I got married to my Chinese wife and saw some photos from her hometown. They squat over a low ceramic trough. Today, there are modern facilities in China and elsewhere, but there are also the "tried and true" ways. |
