There's a lot of curious stuff here, and I suspect that what we see in public bears little relation to what is actually going on. That said, this bears little relation to the question of pedophilia. The youngest of these women was what, 14? That's what we jokingly refer to as a granny around here. The percentage of men who are attracted to healthy women aged 14 to 18 is approximately 100%. Even most gay men tend to find women this age physically attractive.

So this isn't a story about pedophilia at all. It's about an elite that live by one set of rules while the public is expected to live by a different set of rules.

In this case, I don't blame the elite. They know this particular law is nuts, but they pretend to support it because that's what they have to do in order to get by in a culture which has deemed the biology of healthy humans to be the greatest of evils. I might call them cowards for refusing to push back against such idiocy, or I might call them exploitative for pushing ideas they don't really believe in order to improve their own social standing, without regard for the innocents they hurt - but I don't blame them for having mutually desired relationships with teenagers.

But something curious is going on. Probably a majority of people know in their hearts that the current legal situation is insane, but they have been cowed by a loud minority that may have ulterior motives. This might bring that disconnect out into the open. It will be curious to see where this leads.
