How can new members or even longstanding members of the forum feel comfortable to share anything when every single innocent question or poorly-informed assumption is either viciously or snarkliy attacked (eg with NT posts)?!!
Yes, I understand that many old-timers here are angry. Many of you have already heard it all. I also admit that I know nothing compared to most of the regulars here. But does that justify rudeness?! The vast knowledge, experience, and articulation of the regulars here is downright intimidating. I'm not familiar with even a fraction of the forum history that the regulars here take for granted. I often don't know any better to not post certain things here. For that, I am truly sorry. But a far better response would be to patiently explain why I what I sometime post is not in the best interests of the forum. If a member has nothing constructive to say in response to a post that they might find totally inane or ignorant, why go into full-on attack mode? How is that ever going to encourage new or shy members to share or ask questions? |
