I'm not sure where you're going with this. Your description of urbanites is pretty accurate, but it seems to apply pretty much to all races. Rural people of all races tend to have a better understanding of the land.

Africa ... was not exactly a paradise before the Europeans came. I've been there, I've had long talks with people who grew up there, I've read some of the history. Yes, European settlers did some stupid things. So did the natives. What's your point?

Humanity owes a great deal to the peoples of the Mediterranean for innovations in the arts, the sciences, philosophy, and technology. We owe an awful lot to the Hindus for the idea of Zero. We owe a lot to the Chinese for the invention of paper money, gunpowder, and a few other things. Most peoples of this earth have contributed something useful to the whole ... and at the same time, a relative few are responsible for the legal system and the technologies that created the modern age - with especially large contributions from the Protestant French, the Scots and the Germans. At the same time, a lot of people from every ethnic group on Earth are a bit dense. Sometimes we need to get close to them in order to try to steer them away from really stupid ideas. Sometimes we try but they are not only dense, they also have bad intentions. Again, what's your point?

In the last century humanity has created an incredibly complex, interdependent, global logistics system ... which means that humanity has created an incredibly fragile system that could fall apart pretty easily with dreadful consequences. I know people who are working on changing this, to reap the benefits of globalization while establishing a far more decentralized system where individual components are largely self-sufficient, at least in the necessities. Again, what's your point? Where are you going with this?
