You'll note that the first few lines of genesis are also your modern particle physics, etc, ('big bang' inclusive) and that general relativity is just the number 1000 in binary, with the appropriate constants. This... may give you an idea of how far a certain branch of humanity has been delayed by living under occupation, and if they weren't spoon-fed everything, they'd be even farther behind.
