It's been many, many, and I mean many years...

Several days ago, a boater pulled into the slip next to mine. Upon such a vessel stood a Mom, a Dad, a little boy, and a little Goddess.

I was going to write about what I saw until yesterday. My fingers tremble as I begin to type this adventure for you.

She was standing on the dock and I needed to pass Her to reach my own boat. She was busy playing with a loose dock line and ignored me. So, very carefully, I stepped closer to the dock edge to keep from touching Her accidentally.

She took an idle step backwards without looking. My hand instantly held Her shoulder to keep Her from falling into the Lake Ontario waters. Years of sailing allowed me to maintain my own balance but...

... it was the first time in almost 30 years that I physically touched a little Goddess. Yeah, it was just a shoulder and quite innocent. And She didn't fall into Lake Ontario.

But I cannot stop the memory from playing over, and over, and delightfully over again in my mind.

Tomorrow will be Friday and the weather will be conducive to boaters boating and Gimwinkles winkling. Will I survive? I need to do chores (laundry, groceries, empty the garbage, etc.) but why will I be going down to the boat? What if the little Goddess will be there? Alone. Mom, Dad, and brother are magically off doing distant chores (their own laundry?) and SHE will be needing someone to teach Her how to... well, anything. Dock lines interest Her? I have plenty that She can inspect. (Hey, keep your thoughts out of my fantasy, eh?) What if Her shoulder is in desperate need of massaging? What if She needs a hug?

'S'cuse me; I need to drive down to the marina and check on... well, to see if the marina water is still wet. Maybe She's there looking for me?
