I seem to recall that the U.S. government kidnapped, tried, convicted, and jailed a Dutch citizen for selling material that was legal in Holland at the time, in the 1970s or 1980s, without regard for the fact that he had not broken any laws in his jurisdiction. Of course Americans would be outraged if a foreign government kidnapped U.S. citizens on U.S. soil for actions that are legal in the U.S., but of course they always allow an exception for themselves because they are so wise and justice loving and so forth.
But, we might just see foreign nations begin to do that, citing the U.S. example for why they have the right to do so. Americans turn off their brains at the combination of children and sexuality, and allow all sorts of awful precedents that they would loudly denounce if it were anything else. That weakness is likely to end up hurting Americans and people all around the world, badly. Baldur |
