Back at the boat tonight. They went out for a joyride on Lake Ontario, I went sailing, passed by them as they sat drifting. Got back to the dock and tied up. They were already back.

Father and Mother were relaxing on the boat while Son and Daughter ran about the docks. Another sailboater came back just at sunset and the two kids tagged along with me to help the sailboat dock.

I tried to teach Son how to tie a cleat hitch. (Super simple.) I suspect he has a learning disability.

Daughter came to watch the lesson but then all four of us (Son, Daughter, sailboater friend, and me) began idle chatter. I felt at ease because another adult was in attendance. But I carry with me some wonderful and vivid memories of Her. Of course, I had asked how old She was: seven and a half. And, she has to help Her brother tie his shoes.
