This data has been around for decades, and I have the citations written down somewhere but they are not easy to get to at the moment. I'm not going to run around looking for citations every time someone of doubtful intentions asks for them.

But to sum up, the criteria that the FBI used to categorize "preferential pedophiles" (adults attracted to children) was so broad as to include twenty to thirty percent of adult males (as per multiple studies conducted in the 1980s), and they reckoned that these account for about 20% of "child sex abuse" cases (which may or may not be abusive), whereas the other roughly seventy to eighty percent of the population who are not at all attracted to children account for about 80% of such cases.

It's kind of hard to come to reliable conclusions based on the poor quality of the data, and of course the FBI never announced the obvious conclusion, and the language used by FBI researchers was somewhat nonstandard, which confused the issue, but given their raw data the conclusion was very clear and unavoidable - that persons attracted to children are at the extreme equally likely, and by most estimates less likely, to commit sex crimes against children than are persons who have no attraction to children whatever.
