The problem is, though, the powers that be insist that the Earth is flat and will put you in jail of you object to that.

No matter how much you insist that the planets go around the sun, no matter how much science you shove into their faces, their control is absolute and the entire world (well, almost the entire world) goes along with it, closing their logic/mind's eyes.

What to do?

I can't advocate what to do here. It's against the rules. Our rules. I don't want to cancel my welcome.

There isn't a simple solution. You can't just up and say, "Do this, and all will go well." It must be a conscious, premeditated, coldly calculated process that focuses on love between two lovers and keeping Mrs. Grundy looking the other way.
