Girl Actors Should Be The Age of Their Character

It's unfortunate that Dissident's hebe-lover fan brigade seemsto have a distinct tendency to appear or ditch GC along with him, because I suspect they'd challenge you on that if they were here:p

Nevertheless, it leads me to a thought. Hollywood seems to have historically placed older females into roles for a character who is younger. Though I despise their current makeup and ideological intentions, I want to give them the historic benefit of the doubt.. their line of thinking that only someone older deeply understands what someone younger was thinking at the time. Despite the attributes that this opinion may hold, I'd counter that realism is lost when this becomes the standard. Beyond that, there is a learning experience lost for a promising young girl when she experiences on a deeply personal level, a classic story of truth through the realm of make believe and imagination, which is really what acting is, after all. Even if she doesn't completely "get it" at the time she's playing it out, there can still be a magic in its effect, and beyond that, the experience also sticks with her and helps her mature in a beneficial way over time.

I wish there were more girls out there who were playing (especially classic) roles of girl characters at the very same age they are presently. This current world does not exactly make them more naive than in times past, and the benefits to them down the road are like planting helpful seeds for them, in my opinion.

(Also, I was partly thinking of Baldur's secret love for the play "Annie" while making this post.)
