Hosting GC costs much more than a forum that you can throw online with a cheap web host and Softaculous. Our hosting, though not perfect, has been solid and stable for the last 12 years. But that said, hosting GC does not really cost all that much at all if the community together supports their site.

A decade ago, when TPKA Sheepy was treasurer, he was able to raise funds to keep GC going for years. This is why there has not been much said about donations. But like all good things, nothing is forever.
