Hello everyone. As those of you who have been around know, I have been keeping GirlChat barely afloat both financially and by caretaking the forum. Well, it is time for me to announce the beginning of the end.

No, not for GirlChat -- for my tenure as the Caretaker of GirlChat.

I have turned over the day to day management of the board to a long known, well trusted member of our community. You should immediately begin to see changes leading to the future longevity of GirlChat. It will not be an overnight transformation, but within the next few months things should really improve.

The leader of the new GirlChat moderation team will be posting on the forum using the nick "Lysithea". I have chosen not to make this posters GirlChat nick public. The role of a moderator is to be impartial and fair. Using a new nick to moderate with is one method of insuring impartiality and fairness.

Lysithea will be working with the members of our community who have expressed interest in forming a new moderation team. A team that will moderate the board, process nick registrations, fundraise, and do all the things necessary to keep this place alive. Anyone from the community that would like to participate with the running of this forum should email discuss (at) annabelleigh (dot) net.

And lastly, it takes money to keep this resource alive. Lysithea has plans for upgrades and additions in the future which will only be possible if the community supports their forum. To this end, GirlChat will be seeking donations to cover the hosting costs. So, please think about sending some support our way to keep this place alive. Several years ago, the treasurer and webmaster did an amazing job of fundraising. So well that it was possible for this forum to exist for many months without any contributions. Sadly, those days are over. Your support is desperately needed. There will be a donation tracking system instituted similar to the one used by Free Spirits, but for now, please email thetreasurer (at) annabelleigh (dot) net to get details on how you can contribute.
