The myth of the "online CL Community"

To be honest, I've yet to find an "online CL community", just a couple of barely-used discussion forums, one of which (not this one) is being run by a severely disturbed individual who is putting his members in danger of possible criminal prosecution on a daily basis.

I hope this changes, and that an actual functioning community develops (and that GC is an important part of it, as it should be). But for this to happen, the insular paranoia has to stop. Marginalizing real-world activists (and I'm just referring to myself here) because they don't bow to anonymous "very high ups" is ridiculous.

Lawrence Stanley openly had a shop in NYC selling legal GL material. If he were active today, the "online CL community" would be accusing him of being a police informant, a fake, and an "outsider". If he offered to help moderate GC, just to give an example, he would be told he hadn't been a member long enough.

I openly spoke on the subject at Johns Hopkins University least year. I was interviewed for First Comics News, in of the top pop culture websites - https://www.firstcomicsnews.com/weird-adventures-the-daniel-rumanos-files/ - and I am.often recognized in person by individuals who wish to discuss the subject (and not always negatively). I have been open about my attractions for my entire adult life, that being since the late 1980s. Only recently has it really become a problem (not coincidentally, I think, due to the existence of the "online CL community", whose insistence on total anonymity - even for its leaders - puts us under grave suspicion in the eyes of the public).

Any "very high up" in the "CL community" who claims they have no idea who I am is either severely disturbed, incredibly ignorant, or - most likely - LYING TO YOU as part of an ongoing power game.
