He turned out to be one of the most open people I ever met here, and with so many vulnerable quirks that I couldn't help develop a soft spot for him. He was older than us (I think we are similar in age), and he was really bitter about his family(parents/siblings). He would mention it often in private. Apparently there was a favorite, and he was the black sheep.

I think he was fairly open about being a truck driver and once suggested it to me as a not so terrible or low-paying career.

I was therefore always a bit suspicious of Trucker, who appeared later and seemed, to my then paranoid and highly vigilant mind, that he was trying to suck up to my new good buddy in an attempt to out him(Seamus had that classic abrasive personality they really liked to zero in on). This was a legit real threat at the time. It never really stops being a threat, but it was much worse back then.

Anyway, he either crossed a line somewhere or has since crossed over, and we may never know which. He will never get a Cranberry story. It is one of the more frustrating things about this place with its sad requirement of anonymity for so many of us. Our kind don't even get to know what became of people we knew in these shadows.

Meanwhile, some gay person recently came out to his small circle of friends who already knew it anyway.
