I once said that the Stone Age fascinates me. This fascination would certainly disappear very fast if I were thrown into that age; life was very hard in those days.

I don't know if this story is the oldest story ever told -- nobody knows -- but the possibility is interesting. I have sometimes pondered on this question: what are the oldest words still in use today, the oldest stories still told today, etc.
