The only powerful one recently was in Mexico that I can find. And even that one wasn't that bad. 1 death and some fairly minor damage.

The news media in the U.S. has been pretty relentless covering the mine collapse in Myanmar recently. So I'm pretty sure if people had died in some Earthquakes the news media would get as horny as they ever do for some doom and gloom.

But, ya there's always Earthquakes going on. Plate tectonics and all that. Can't find anything about there being more of them atm.
