Epstein was not particularly attractive; and there is a (more or less fair) assessment that he was misusing his power for sexual access to girls.

When a defendant seduces their partners not by using power but by physical attractiveness, talent or other virtues; or when they are attractive even if they're thuggish... then comment sections are flooded with "oh he can come to my house and rape me".

The lower a pedo goes in age the less that this is viable because the perceived power difference widens; but it's always a factor and is obvious with rapists of adults and older teens and with consensual but illegal contact with teens.
