I think of the story I have written... Somebody said: you main character is so cold. And someone else said something similar.
The milieu is described very colorfully, but the inner feelings of the main guy... not so much. He is a man, not a sob. I wondered what all the fuss was about his coldness or warmth. In my mind the main character was just a common guy, he acted normally. Maybe there is something cold about me, because I tend to despise crying people, especially women, and sometimes also laughing people, if they laugh in chorus at old jokes -- then I become very cold. But in general I don't see myself as a cold person. I don't like Hemingway, not at all, but after that "criticism" I decided that I should start writing like Hemingway in the short story The End of Something. https://biblioklept.org/2013/03/03/the-end-of-something-ernest-hemingway/ |
