Is feminism a dirty word for you?

Posted by Tom O'Carroll on Monday, November 09 2020 at 07:37:57AM

Feminism is a dirty word for many MAPs. But it doesn't have to be, as Judith Levine showed with her sex-positive stance in Harmful to Minors some years ago.

Now she has a new book out, co-authored with fellow feminist Erica Meiners. It takes a wrecking ball to America's ugly, bloated, prison system, which incarcerates literally millions of citizens, often unfairly, especially if labelled as sex offenders. As an alternative, these authors take a refreshingly constructive approach to ending both state violence and the real harm caused by sexual coercion.

The book, The Feminist and the Sex Offender: Confronting Sexual Harm, Ending State Violence, is reviewed in the latest blog at Heretic TOC, out today.

Take a look: you might be pleasantly surprised.

Intersectionality is also a dirty word for principled opponents of identity politics, such as the widely acclaimed conservative gay writer Douglas Murray.

But it is a big concept as well, and its implications for MAPs (BLs, GLs and CLs) are also explored in the analysis at Heretic TOC.

Meaty reading for GLs who don't mind being invited to think hard: Heretic TOC: see link below.
