I don't believe that anyone here is an attorney - though, you don't just want "an attorney," you want someone who specializes in whatever you've been charged with and who has a great track record and is highly skilled in that area.

There are some here that should be able to recommend a good attorney.

About writing something yourself, I would avoid this. It's not that lawyers are geniuses (generally), but procedure is crucial in law. A tiny mistake that you don't even realize can have disastrous effects. Also they know the "right" way of writing things for court.

Maybe there were some old posts that I missed, but I'm not sure why you feel ostracized - you're a newer poster, right? Many current posters have been on here for 20 years - it stands to reason some of them would be more chummy. It's nothing against you. And there are also many on here that have been here a long time that if not enemies, don't like each other.
