If the age of the universe...

...is a line of a few kilometers or miles, the most important things happen during the first few centimeters of that timeline; after that the universe is already almost dead: all stars have extinguished, nearly all matter is concentrated in the black holes, and in the course of an immensely, incomprehensibly, immeasurably long period of time the black holes slowly disperse and in the end the universe is totally silent, cold, and nothing at all happens any more.

I mean if the heat death theory is right. Something happens in the very beginning, then the universe spends almost all of its time in an almost-dead state.

The same with this site: even if the site were almost dead, it may take a very long time before it finally stops existing.
