Dude had some serious anger issues and psych problems. I don't know any of the details about the interactions with the kids, but back then I saw some rather deranged footage of the dude who was already suicidal, tempting fate and literally asking for his own demise. Even his fellow compatriots were like uhh... this dude's a little crazy.

Now WHY was he crazy. Was he just fed up as a hated gentle pedo? Was there something else going on there? I'd guess the latter, but I am open to being enlightened about him.

My understanding is he was a guy out for blood wherever he might find it, with nothing left to lose if it ended his own life. And he rolled those dice and got snake eyes.
