That's not exactly a cook per se, but I once heard of a study that stress levels for cooks ranked the same as that for air traffic controllers, but probably back when their jobs were more manual than today. Basically, your brain doesn't differentiate between having 250 lives hanging on your directions, and having a boss come in to yell at you that customers are complaining about wait times.
