I don't think we should overplay the idea of identity, especially with young children. They can learn that different people like to do different sexual things with each other and as long as its all safe and consensual, it's not a problem. Later, in adolescence, the question of one's own identity starts to seem important, but even then, they should be encouraged to think of these identities as flexible and not absolute.
