Some argue allowing consensual interactions would make society more dangerous for kids. This is silly and illogical. A more open and accepting society would lead to less ignorant children overall. So when kids are actually abused or meet those with ill intent they could better defend themselves or make other adults aware.

Plus, there is bias, most good people avoid sexual contact with children even if they want to partake and no there is no innate harm. Our sample of adult/child sexual interactions are skewed. Harmful individuals are more likely to not care about social norms.
