No, Sweden and Finland (plus individuals like me) are giving up their neutrality because Putin's Russia is a bellicose, expansive country that threatens its neighbors and their peaceful life with no sensible reason whatever. The countries around it just try to defend themselves. Russia is the aggressor, its leader is a dictator, and it sounds really preposterous that someone tries to understand his politics.

Russia is sieged by "hostile" forces simply because it is hostile itself. It would be different is someone like Yeltsin would be the leader of Russia. Even if he was a drunk, he was a thousand times better than Putin.

Ukraine could have become one more peace-loving member of EU, and maybe still can.
