Western society is either breaking down on its own, or is being torn down from multiple fronts in a very calculated way.

That argument of which it is can go on forever, but in the broader picture, I would agree with you about the swarms of idiots and downright evil players who would take advantage of acceptance and ruin it for actual child lovers, the people who want the best for the kids they love.

My view could be countered however, because this breakdown of (or attack against) society and each and every one of its longstanding traditions are also happening to (or being committed against) children themselves. Put aside the more controversial stuff regarding chopping off body parts and doing stuff to them which mean many kids today will never have offspring of their own, at least not naturally. That means fewer and fewer kids in the future.

But put that aside.

More kids are dealing with depression, or stress or bullying than ever before. They don't know what to believe in anymore. It's great that some people want to change society to something better, but tearing the shit down isn't enough. Unless traditional society is actually replaced by something else that gives people something to believe in and hope, then those doing the tearing down are simply condemning people to a shitty future with completely unhealthy emotions and mental states.

That is what is happening to children and teens today. They know what has been torn down, but they don't see the alternative future for their own happiness, safety, and well-being.

Some cynics like myself think that is the actual goal. Others would say no, we're just building something better for later.

Fine, but the argument FOR child lovers to exist right now and in these times, is that children NEED people who will look out for their best interests now more than ever. (Outsiders of course view us as one-dimensional sex fiends, so they have no idea how this could ever be true.) WE, however, if we are true child lovers, share something for kids that goes far beyond that physical attraction. I think many who are lucky enough to have actual kids in their lives understand this instinctually. They are trying to protect the kids they love from societal assaults specifically directed AT CHILDREN today from all angles.

So there's lots of viewpoints to your post to consider. Nobody has all the answers. There is a cultural war going on across the West. Like I said, everyone can argue about the wonderful or nefarious reasons why it is going on, but it is going on nevertheless. Speaking only for my own perspective, I think all of these vast changes should be viewed with outright suspicion right now. Things are not being challenged to create anything better. Things are being challenged to topple the entire social order.

And I don't trust any of it.
