I got lucky with online dating

But this was back like 8+ years ago. I went on a ton of dates all from online dating sites. Match, Plenty of Fish, and OkCupid were the biggest players I knew of. I found it more useful for finding friends than hookups or romance usually. Often it was that the girl wasn't on my same level of "looks" (I was a good looking guy in a geeky way). I'd sleep with larger girls, sure, but they'd have to be cute too.

Eventually I met my wife on one of those dating sites (the dating site either didn't have an app or I wasn't using the app version at the time).

Modern dating apps, you'd think, would be better at both matching and catering to what you're looking for (marriage, casual dating, one-night flings, etc.). So it should be an even better experience for the singles and cheaters today. Right?

I have positive feelings toward online dating but IDK if I'd have the same kind of enjoyment now, because young women are addicted to their social media and all feel less real to me than the kinds of young women I dated back before marriage and mortgage. It most young women lack the vivaciousness that their youth should engender, then I'd want nothing to do with them in terms of dating. Ever creep on tiktok for a lark? Younger teens and 20 year olds all so bored and good-looking with their silly nose piercings. Bored and pretty and no personality I can find. But maybe that's a mask for the medium, for the likes and cash app gifts. I don't know, but I'm not interested. Maybe with a dating app I'd find the interesting ones. How do you meet people IRL these days anyway? Who goes out when you can stay in and live stream while you put on make-up that the real world will never see?
