That's cool.

Maybe it looked like I was getting at the pedo angle. In reality, I was remembering a guy I worked with a long time ago who was a proud satanist, and he used to only decorate for Halloween, with extra gorey and harsh decorations and robotics. Like, the kind that would scare the living crap out of any kid under thirteen. So I suppose the level of gore is a part of it, even though it's still fun to have things that might startle the kiddos.

As a teen I loved scary stuff, but as a little kid I hated it. I refused to enter a makeshift haunted house that was really inside a giant tent once, and they had to refund the grownups. When I was even younger, I never came back out of an old-fashioned funhouse. People had to ask the ticket taker to if they could send a search party back in for me. There was little Eeyore sobbing in the slanted house of mirrors, watching other kids go by, just too afraid to forge ahead into the unknown:(

A few years later, I faced my fear and breezed through it. It wasn't scary at all!
