You and I (and others) used to discuss home-schooling on this board years ago. John Gatto was specifically interesting to me, and I was surprised you knew of him.

Maybe I was just lucky to meet some special kids in the past, but the ones I encountered were always way more adept at interacting on a meaningful level with adults, seemed to have more self-confidence, were more aware of the world, and were more kind, accepting and genuinely polite. I suppose that depends on how good or crappy their home-schoolers were, but in my case they just seemed less polluted by all the toxic crap that goes on in the institutional facilities.
